Brief Bios – Interns

Aditi Kumar


Aditi Kumar is presently pursuing an integrated masters degree in Economics from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. She believes that power relations are an inherent feature of human society. To this end, theory of international relations interests her. Some authors whose works inspire her are Karl Marx, David Hume, Steven Pinker, Stephen Hawking, Brian Greene and Barry Buzan.

Akanksha Mittal


Akanksha Mittal is pursuing BSc. Mathematics Hons from Lady Shri Ram College. A little clueless about her academic “Master Plan” after her graduation, she believes in going with the flow of things in general. An art enthusiast, she loves to watch Theatre and Art Exhibitions apart from acting! What brings her to CCS is her curiosity which is never satiable but pampered enough!

Anubhuti Sharma

Anubhuti Sharma enjoys history. She graduated in it from Lady Shri Ram College and completed Masters from the Faculty of Social Sciences in Delhi University. And she hopes to become a researcher some day. Meanwhile to make life better she strums guitar, does photography, reads novels, writes and loves travelling. That makes it exciting.

David Clarance


David Clarance is fascinated by economics. He studies the same at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. Musical instruments constantly remind him that there is more to life than economics. Often he is frustrated by his own desire to know why things are the way they are and usually ends up using books to satisfy some of it.

Jasraj Singh


Jasraj Singh is currently pursuing an economics course at Sri Venkateswara college and is interested in the how it applies to the ground realities -which is what prompted him to take up this internship. A film enthusiast he loves dramatics and listening to Coldplay. His research interests are varied and range from topics like market structures to topics from international trade.

Nandini Jayakumar


Nandini Jayakumar is currently pursuing Masters in Economics from Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics. Matters of Public policy, especially those pertaining to education and empowerment of women, deeply interest her. She strives to live by the rule “Be the change you want to see in the world”.

Neil Borate


Neil Borate completed his B.B.A.L.L.B. from Symbiosis Law School, Pune and now studies economics at the University of Birmingham. He has a special interest in macro-economics and the interplay between law and economics. His favourite books include 1984 and Starship Troopers.

Pradnya Talekar


Pradnya Talekar is a IV year student of law pursuing a 5 year integrated policy sciences and legal studies course at the National Law University, Jodhpur. she loves to travel, read, explore the life and world but most of all to spread love and try make this place a better to live, to breathe and fly.

Subhaprad Mohanty


Subhaprad Mohanty is pursuing B.A LL.B from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law. He is an avid quizzer and also has interest in reading classic English literature. He has participated in social entrepreneurship competitions and views such platforms as opportunities to bolster his future career. He is also an enthusiastic cricket fan. Currently he is learning to play keyboard along with crooning his favorite music genre -indiPop and psychedelic rock. His future plans also includes sitting for civil services exams.

Shashank Singh


Shashank Singh graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur. He loves to read, write, travel, play football and to take to different adventure sports. He has an interest in politics, economics and finance. He is always eager to take up new challenges and likes to keep things simple.

Varun Kumar Vijay


Varun Kumar Vijay is a student doing International Baccalaureate 2 at Shri Ram School, Gurgaon. He wishes to pursue Politics or Philosophy for his higher studies.

Ishu Kumar


Ishu Kumar is currently pursuing his undergraduate studies at Lake Forest College, USA. He plans to double major in Economics and International Relations with a possible minor in either Politics or Communications. An avid football fan, his favorite team is Manchester United. In his free time, he engages in tickling his taste buds by performing eccentric experiments in the kitchen. He makes a point to lick though BBC everyday.

Safal Choudhary


Safal Choudhary is pursuing Bachelors in Mass Communication and Journalism from Amity University Noida. He is into photography and his forte is capturing “EXPRESSIONS” & “POTRAITS”. He is a freelancer photographer and works part time for amity in-house newspaper and paid photo-shoots. He likes watching movies and for that matter any movie, listening music, hanging around with friends, adventurous, into car racing and stunts. He is very creative and hard working if given a chance he can prove his metal.

Snigdha Jain


Snigdha Jain recently finished pursuing English Honours (B.A.) and will be moving onto an MA in International Journalism from City University London. She is a sucker for chocolate cake and treats life as such – taking one amazing step at a time, with her creative writing, dancing and love for traveling. Most importantly she knows the value of keeping herself happy all the time.

Surbhi Tondon


Surbhi Tondon is a third year Journalism student from Delhi University. She is passionate about current affairs and loves to read newspapers. Her interest is in the field of development and rural reporting. She is a sports – enthusiast and a cricket crazy person plus she volunreered for CWG 2010. As a person she is extremely positive and believe that “Never doubt that that a handful of committed and thoughtful citizens can change the world”.

Udita Singh


Udita Singh is a graduate of Journalism from Lady Shri Ram College for Women who believes in the mighty power of the pen! My interests range from reading, traveling, quizzing to photography, animal welfare and World Cinema. Being occupied and productive gives her maximum satisfaction. Her past internships, as well as current at CCS, have contributed to greater understanding of societal issues and public policies. The confines of four walls of a classroom have taught her much, however, she believes she has gained maximum when working on various projects in these internships.

Daphne


Daphne was born and raised in Zambia and later in India, she aspires to have an impactful career working on education and urban poverty in developing countries at both the policy and grass roots levels. She has diverse experience in the social sector in areas like program management, volunteer engagement, skills training and facilitation and is happiest when working with children.

Daphne is an electronics engineer and will be pursuing a Masters of Public Administration at New York University in the fall.

Isha Tirkey


Isha Tirkey is pursuing her M.A in Political Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She is an avid reader and loves swimming. She has a keen interest in the study of western political philosophy and is also inspired by John Rawls’ work ‘A Theory of Justice’. She is helpful by her nature and would like to work for improving the conditions of the disadvantaged sections in society.

Riddhima Mishra


Riddhima Mishra is pursuing Economics Honours (final year) from University Maharani’s College, University of Rajasthan. She sees herself as an observer and learner and believes, “Heaven is nothing, but perfection” and continuously strives for it.
